11: Interrogation Pt.2

Detective Rose couldn’t sleep a wink. She would usually sleep without difficulty, but the Landon case was different. Elliot was a professional in law, and he defended and prosecuted many criminals of different kinds. He was a force that shouldn’t be reckoned with. Rose knew Elliot would try to eliminate as much evidence as possible. The Detective received a call from the IT Department and said that Elliot’s computer was clean; nothing could make him look guilty.

A narcissistic lawyer like Elliot wouldn’t put his true intentions on a simple computer. Detective Rose suspected that he had hidden another laptop. Since investigators had already looked through the house, there was a hunch that there were secret compartments that weren’t found and looked through.

She just knew it. While looking at the crime scene pictures, a knock on the door got her attention. “Yeah!”

The door opened; it was her partner, Detective Maxwell. “Morning Rose. Looks like you haven’t slept a wink last night. Is it because of this case?”

“I guess it’s noticeable.” Rose looked back down at the pictures. “Something doesn’t add up. The IT Department told me his laptop is clean; I know he has another hidden.”

“Well, it could be possible since he seems to be smart. However, a man as proud as he is can always have flaws. Anyway, I wanted to tell you that Andrea’s parents arrived. They wish to speak to you.”

That got her attention. “Her parents? I was thinking of calling them and setting up a time for an interrogation, but it seems they may have information about Elliot. Please send them to the interrogation room. I will be there in ten minutes.”

Maxwell nodded and left Rose’s office. The Detective sighed in relief; she felt that luck was slowly going her way. However, she knew Amanda’s parents would not be enough; Rose had to get more people to interview. She got her notebook and pen and went off toward the interrogation room. Upon arrival, Maxwell stood outside the door with his notebook and pen. “Hey, they’re inside; they look distraught.”

“I imagine. They lost their daughter. Come on, let’s not keep them waiting.” The Detectives entered; inside were Amanda’s parents. They looked distraught and as if they hadn’t slept in a while; Amanda’s mother had slightly droopy red eyes. The couple looked as if they were about to stand, but Rose motioned out her hand. “No need. Please stay seated. Would either of you like something to drink?”

“No, we came here because we needed to talk to you. We were told that you are in charge of our daughter’s case. I am Arthur and this is my wife Yolanda. We wanted to know if you believe if what happend to Amanda was an accident?”

Rose and Maxwell sat on the opposite side of the table. It looks like that, but we must look at everything before jumping to conclusions.”

Arthur and Yolanda looked at one another; they looked relieved. “Thank goodness that it wasn’t ruled an accident.” Yolanda motioned forward; her tear-stricken face was filled with anger, hurt, and determination. “We want to tell you that what happened to Amanda was no accident. We know that son of a bitch had something to do with this!”

The Detectives opened their notebooks, ready to write new information. “Please tell us why you think Mr. Elliot would have something to do with this?”

“Look, our daughter was no saint when she met Elliot. She was married but when meeting that evil bastard changed her. He manipulated her to meet with him and fooled her to think that he loved her. We told Amanda that he was bad news; she didn’t listen. Our daughter divorced her first husband and got pregnant with Elliot’s child, but lost it in the end.”

“When was the first time you met Elliot Landon?” asked Maxwell.

“We all met each other two months after Amanda divorced her first husband. He tried to play charming but we knew that it was an act. His eyes told us differently,” said Yolanda.

“Could you elaborate more on that? Tell us more of his personality,” said Rose. She was impressed that Yolanda was observant with Elliot’s eyes. People tend not to observe small details in a person.

Yolanda took a deep breath. “His eyes looked empty; like he had no soul. Of course, he had his charming smile and confident posture. Yet, the tone of his voice sounded as if he was trying hard to hide who he truly was.”

“Not only that, he bought me and my wife some flowers and other small gifts to show that he meant well. Elliot knew we disapproved of him and the relationship, but it seemed he was trying so hard to show that he was perfect.” Arthur lay back on his chair as he scratched the back of his head. “As my wife said, his eyes were unmoving; we knew he didn’t love our daughter.”

Rose and Maxwell were writing in their notebooks. “Did he do anything else that made you believe he didn’t love your daughter?”

“He hardly visited us when it was the holidays. Our daughter would call and visit us from time to time. She told us that ever since she had the miscarriage, he became distant, and he wanted to sleep in separate rooms. Elliot would always find excuses not to be with her. He would always focus on work. They would have arguments and fights but Andrea told us that he would make her feel guilty.” Yolanda scoffed. “That man is a complete narcissist and socipath!”

“We told Amanda to divorce him; he would have to pay her spousal support, but she loved him too much. We knew it was an infatuation for him. My wife and I wondered if Elliot was having an affair.”

This captured Rose’s interest as she wrote her notes. “Really? What made you believe this?”

“Well, Amanda told me that Elliot was focusing a lot on his work and would, at times, come home late. She believed that Elliot was cheating on her. We hate to admit it but since he had no qualms being with a married woman, then he wouldn’t hesitate to cheat again,” said Arthur.

“Thank you for all this information. We will consider this.”

The couple stood up. “Thank you for listening to us. Also, please feel free to speak with our daughter’s friends. They volunteered to be interrogated and have things to say about Elliot.” Yolanda gave Rose a paper with different names and numbers.

Rose smiled as she got the paper. She and Maxwell shook hands and bid farewell to the couple. Rose and Maxwell looked at the list of names. “Wow, there are quite a few names. I guess we will have more information about Elliot, and a reason to make him a complete suspect.”

“Well, we will have a few leads, but he will try to lie through his teeth. There are other ways that we need to get more information.”

Maxwell looked at his partner; he knew what she was thinking. If she went through with it, it could risk her entire career.

12: Peace

Alexandria never felt peaceful in her class; her classmates looked as if they felt the same sentiment. When Elliot taught his class, no one wanted to participate or feared being chosen. The Professor enjoyed embarrassing students and making them feel inferior. Although Alexandria wasn’t afraid of him, she was always rigid and vigilant. Her body would tense whenever she was called or to be always prepared.

With Professor Hart, he was patient and understanding. He made the students feel that their input and ideas were valuable. Whenever a student made an error, they would shiver in fear, but the Professor would assure them that it was okay to make mistakes.

No one was perfect.

The class went on in peace, and everyone enjoyed themselves. “Alright, everyone. Your homework is to read pages 110-120. Please write a short two-page essay about the case and discuss what techniques the lawyer used. This is due by midnight. Dismissed.”

Everyone in the classroom began to pack their belongings and head out. All students thanked the Professor or asked more questions about the assignment. Alexandria still sat in her seat, watching Professor Hart communicate with the students. She couldn’t help but admire him and how kind he was. Throughout the class, the young woman had some difficulties paying attention. Although Richard was good-looking, his personality drew her to him. Yale had stern and strict Professors; many hardly smiled or looked as motivated to teach.

Richard was the opposite; he wasn’t afraid to express his positive side. “Alexandria?” Richard called out the young woman.

This brought her back to reality. “Huh?” Alexandria looked around and realized she was the only student in class left. “Oh, sorry about that. I tend to doze off.”

The Professor chuckled. “Really? I hope my lecture wasn’t a bore,” he said while packing his textbook and paperwork.

Alexandria stood up from her seat and packed her folders and papers. “N-No, not at all. Your lecture was understandable and a joy to learn. The thing is, I have a large imagination and I tend to become thoughtful.” The two finished packing, but neither moved. Richard looked at Alexandria, but she looked away.“What the heck is wrong with me? He must think I’m weird.”

“May I ask you something?”

The student looked at Richard, who looked concerned; she wondered if she had done anything wrong. “Uh, yeah, sure.”

“While teaching class, I noticed how tense everyone was. Most of the students looked afraid to answer my questions and always apologized if they got a simple mistake. I remember you mentioning your absent Professor and I wondered if he makes everyone feel tense?”

“Yes. Everyone here fears him. The Professor is a narcissist and enjoys destroying students’s self-esteem.”

Richard heard stories from other Professors about Elliot, and the way they spoke about him was out of fear. “I see. Have you or any other students contacted the Department Head to complain?”

“Yes, but nothing has been done. I feel that even the Department Head is scared of him. Professor Landon was a pretty good lawyer, and since he won many cases, I guess the higher-ups are afraid to do anything due to his reputation.”

Richard raised an eyebrow at her hypothesis. Her intelligence impressed him, and he believed Alexandria had researched her Professor. “You are very well-informed, and the way you speak about him. I assume you don’t have a respectable outlook on him.”

The student shook her head. “I must tolerate him since he is my Professor, and I need this class to graduate. He is nothing more than a bully who wants power, and I refuse to be afraid of him.”

The two looked at one another but heard students outside the classroom door; they waited for their Professor to arrive. Richard motioned Alexandria to follow him out, and she happily did so. As they walked out, a line of students held their belongings and eyed the two. The female students eyed Richard with interest and lust; Alexandria couldn’t blame them. The man was a sight to behold, but she couldn’t help but feel a tinge of jealousy. Many female students wouldn’t hesitate to sleep with Professors out of lust or gain something in return. They walked away from the room and to the hallway, where they wandered. “You seem to be strong-willed. I also noticed all the notes you have written. You prepare yourself each time you have this class.” He noticed Alexandria blush; he thought it was adorable. “Don’t be embarrassed. I find it admirable, and I have a hunch that you are not fond of Elliot.”

The two laughed and stopped walking. They stood close to the quad area where many students sat on the green grass, being lively to one another. “Well, it was nice to have you in class. I will see you on the next one.” Alexandria was about to walk away, but Richard cleared his throat, making her stop. “D-Did you say something?”

“Well, I was about to. You see, I have a lot on my plate and it’s taking too much of my time. Could you help me input grades and review some of my lesson plans? You could use this as an internship experience, and I would happily be a reference whenever you need me. What do you say?”

The young woman’s face became so warm that she felt her face turn red like a tomato. She was surprised that he would ask her for assistance. She would usually reject any other Professor since she felt weary and cautious. However, she felt ashamed that she would think differently with Richard, but he looked and felt trustworthy. It would also allow her to know more about him. “Um, sure. When would you like me to help you?”

“Tomorrow at 3 pm. Would that work well?”

“Perfectly. My last class ends at that time.”

“Perfect. Let’s meet tomorrow at the library. My office is here. Ask them for my location. I will see you then.” Richard waved goodbye as he walked past Alexandria. Alexandria did the same and felt happy and excited that she could have more alone time with the handsome Professor.

13: Party

It was 8:56 p.m., and Alexandria felt she was on cloud nine. Professor Landon was going to be out for a while, and she was also going to be Richard’s assistant. There were many stories regarding Professors and their assistants. However, the young woman believed that Richard wasn’t that type of man. She was currently in her room doing some research when there was a knock on her door. “I hope it’s not Quinn.”

When arriving at the door, Alexandria slowly opened it to take a peek. “Hey Alex, it’s us. You don’t have to worry.” Jenny and Max were on the other end. Relief set in, and the duo were let inside.

“What are you guys doing here?”

“I knew you would forget; at least try to forget. Remember about the party?” asked Jenny.

“Oh, I almost forgot about it. I had such a great day that my mind was elsewhere.”

Jenny looked amused. “Look, we know how you are regarding parties. So we chose one that would be more to your taste. Here.” A masquerade mask was motioned out.

Alexandria raised an eyebrow and noticed that her friends wore formal clothes. “You guys decided to go to a masquerade party?”

Max nodded. “Yup, we usually don’t like that sort of thing. However, since we want you to go, since masquerades are more of your thing.”

Alexandria was surprised that her friends were thoughtful since they didn’t want her to miss the fun. She had been so consumed with surviving Elliot’s class that her private life suffered, although there were good reasons to celebrate. “Okay, sure. I’ll go.”

The couple smiled and looked relieved. “Go get dressed in one of your nice clothes. The party will be at the campus’ ballroom. Believe it or not some students rented the ballroom to celebrate having a reprieve from your tyrant Professor.”

Everyone laughed; Alexandria entered her room and dressed herself in a strapless hunter-colored Adeline gown that tugged onto her body. Her hair was put in a bun, leaving some curled strands dangling. Alexandria wore a diamond necklace, earrings, and light makeup, making her skin pop. Once finished, she left her room, where her friends were waiting for her. Jess whistled, “Damn girl, you can make any woman lesbian. Here’s your mask.”

The mask was taken, and Alexandria wore it on her face. Everyone walked out of the room and excitedly went off toward their destination. Once they were out of sight. A figure walked out of a hiding space and quietly walked toward the door that led into Alexandria’s dorm room. The figure got out some small tools, which assisted in unlocking the door.

The figure entered the dorm and went to the young woman’s room, where a tiny camera was installed. When completed, other small cameras were installed in the living room, kitchen, and bathroom. Satisfied, the figure walked out of the dorm, where the door was closed and locked. “My mission has been completed. Although, it would be nice to have a little fun.”

Meanwhile, the trio got to the University’s ballroom, where some students entered in their best clothes. Everyone wore masquerade masks that hid parts or their entire faces. It had been a long time since Alexandria had been at a party, but they decided to have the intention of having a good time. Once inside the ballroom, a chandelier shined; the room was beautifully decorated. Portraits of U.S. presidents and Yale alumni hung proudly on the walls. Tables of food and drinks were displayed; the bar was opened, where the bartenders served drinks.

A do was in front of the dance floor, where some people were dancing. It was not much of a masquerade party that Alexandria hoped for, but it was decent enough. “Hey, do you ladies want to grab some food and drinks before we have our fun?” asked Max.

The women agreed, and the friends went toward some tables where they got their cups and plates, serving themselves. While doing so, Alexandria couldn’t help but feel watched. She looked behind her, and there was no one that she recognized.“I’m just being paranoid.” Alexandria and the others got their food and sat by a table where they drank and ate to their content.

Once finished, Jenny suggested they go to the dance floor. Alexandria was initially reluctant, but with Jenny and Max’s insistence, she was forced onto the dance floor where many students danced. The young woman felt she wasn’t a good dancer but tried to do what everyone else did. Eventually, Alexandria became comfortable with her dance moves; there were instances when male students tried to dance behind her. They weren’t given the time of day, but those who asked for her permission got a dance.

While dancing, the feeling of being watched returned, making Alexandria cautious and look at her surroundings.“What’s going on with me?” The song that the dancer danced to eventually finished. Alexandria noticed that Jess and Max weren’t on the dance floor but at the bar. She was about to go toward them, but someone stood before her—it was a man.

The tall man wore a phantom-like mask covering his entire face. He wore an unbuttoned black suit, a black vest, and a nicely buttoned white shirt. His dark hair was slicked back. The man reminded Alexandria of Erik from The Phantom of the Opera. “S-Sorry for getting in your way. I was trying to get to my friends.”

The man was silent but then motioned his hand; Alexandria was confused. He wasn’t budging, and then the Phantom of the Opera song played by Vanessa Mae was playing. Alexandria finally realized that the man wanted to dance. She was exhausted but couldn’t help but feel the stranger wouldn’t let her alone. “Okay, just one dance. Afterward, I need to go with my friends.” The young woman grabbed his hand; the stranger moved closer as he put his free hand on her waist.

Even with their masks, they looked at each other, but Alexandria felt the man’s intense stare. The stranger then motioned her to dance along with him. He danced along with the beat; Alexandria initially had difficulty catching up to him. However, she eventually caught his pace. They twirled and swirled with the music. It was noticeable that the stranger would pull her closer, but Alexandria always tried to keep her distance. The young woman couldn’t deny that the man was mysterious but had a dominant aura.

It was as if he tried to tell her he was powerful.

The song ended, and the two looked at one another. The man slowly let her go, made a short bow, and walked out of the party, leaving Alexandria stunned.

“Hey, Alex, we saw you dancing with that guy. Who was he?” asked Max while taking sips from his drink.

“I don’t know. He was silent throughout the dance.”

“Hmm…I wonder if he’s good-looking,” said Jenny. She noticed that her boyfriend eyed her with a hint of jealousy. “I was just curious, babe. You know you are the only one I want for the rest of my life.” Jenny kissed Max, who was slightly upset but returned his girlfriend’s kiss.

Alexandria still looked at the exit and wondered who she danced with. Although he was a good dancer, she felt a cold chill run down her spine.

14: Spy

Elliot arrived back home and immediately went to his study, where he turned on the dim lights. A dim environment gave him a soothing sensation, especially on what happened earlier in the day. Since Detective Rose suspected him of killing Amanda, he knew that he couldn’t raise suspicions. However, it was difficult for him to remain in the dark.

Alexandria was the reason why he did what he did. Elliot felt that it was her fault for making him desire her or making him dispose of his wife. He sighed as he threw his suit and mask on one of the chairs and sat on his main chair behind his desk. The Professor hacked into the University’s system to see if there was any news about him. It was known that Elliot was hated within the University, but that didn’t bother him since he hated everyone in the University except for Alexandria.

Ever since Elliot began working at the University, he has learned some skills in hacking emails and other important information used to blackmail or prepare. When he read the emails, Elliot found that many students decided to have parties within and outside the campus.

Students and Professors alike were celebrating his temporary absence. It was comical, but Elliot decided to attend one of them at the University’s ballroom. The Professor suspected that Alexandria would be in attendance and decided to go to her dorm. He was able to hack into her information and found out where she lived. Elliot ensured his vehicle was not tracked and went to her dorm room, where he hid in the janitor’s room until he knew that Alexandria and her friends were gone.

It irked him that Alexandria went out to celebrate his absence, but he knew that she would eventually be his. That was why he installed all the cameras in her dorm apartment, where she would be carefully watched. Afterward, Elliot went to the ballroom, where Alexandria danced with her friends. When the Professor saw her in her beautiful dress, he was enamored of how the dress clung to her body. When watching her dance was what enthralled him; her body moved with a passion that seduced many of the male students.

Elliot wanted to kill all those men who dared touch what he deemed to be his property. The memory was fresh in his mind as Elliot remembered when he motioned Alexandria to a dance. She was reluctant, which he anticipated, but after accepting his invitation, Elliot showed her who was in charge.

The Professor closed his eyes and remembered the intense look he and Alexandria shared as they danced. Elliot had the opportunity to touch her body, and it was the most exciting feeling he had ever felt. His eyes were opened, and Elliot turned on his laptop to see if the cameras worked. The suspense got to him; he didn’t want his work to go to waste. Once he clicked ‘turn on,’ the screen split into six windows, representing the rooms where the cameras were.

The cameras’ systems were downloaded until the screens were turned on and the rooms were shown. “They work. Good.” The time was checked, and it was 11:30 p.m. He wondered when Alexandria would arrive but thought it best to shower first and check the cameras later. As Elliot stood, that was when he heard a noise on the camera in the living. At the corner of his eye, the door of the apartment opened.

Alexandria and her two friends finally arrived at the apartment. The Professor sat back down in his seat and watched with anticipation.

“Woah, that was fun! Did you have fun?”asked Jenny.

“Sure did! I realized that I was so consumed with surviving that asshole’s class that I forgot how to live a little!”Alexandria giggled as she dropped herself on the couch. The door was closed, and everyone sat on the couch.

“You always were a party pooper, Alex. You were always weary of going to parties. I know you want to do well in your studies, but you have to learn how to focus on yourself too,”said Max.

Alexandria sighed.“I know. You guys are right, and I thank you for giving me the chance to have fun! Oh, I forgot to tell you guys the good news: I was hired to be an assistant to a Professor!”

The news came as a surprise to everyone, Elliot included. His eyes were glued to his laptop screen. “An assistant!? To whom!?”

Jenny and Max looked at one another and then to Alexandria.“Really? Which Professor?”asked Jenny.

“He’s the one who is substituting for Professor Elliot. I am going to be working for Professor Richard Hart. He even said he can be one of my references when the time calls for it!”The young woman squealed with excitement.“I’m looking forward to it.”

Elliot felt rage and shock; Alexandria would work for a male Professor who wasn’t him. The thought of his possession being close to another man made his blood boil.

“Wow, congrats, Alex. We hear stories about how professors choose particular students to be assistants,”said Max.

Alexandria also knew about the stories, but there was the possibility that the many stories were rumors. Unlike Elliot, she believed Richard was a man with integrity and respect. “I know, but this Professor is different; I can sense that he is a good man. You know, I’m not the type of woman who opens her legs for opportunities.”

Jenny and Max looked at one another, happy for their friend. However, they were still worried about her, but they could tell Alexandria was confident in their choices and decisions. All the couple wanted was for her to be happy and safe. “Well, alright. We know that you’re very smart. Still, if that bastard tries anything on you, you know that you can count on us,” Jenny stated.

“I know. Anyway, do you guys want to crash here? I know you guys drank a lot.”

Elliot kept watching them but didn’t pay any more attention. Their voices sounded distant, and his rage filled his mind and body. Alexandria was going to work for another man and was happy about it. He knew he had to find more information about Professor Hart before he and Alexandria could get close.

15: Private Moment

Elliot couldn’t sleep the entire night. He was still seething from what he had heard during hours earlier. Alexandria was going to work under the substitute Professor teaching HIS class. Professors and students alike celebrated his absence, which didn’t bother him. What bothered him was that Alexandria seemed happy to be under his wing. The Professor hacked into the University to get more information about the mysterious Professor.

It took a while, but the information was found.

Richard Hart.

When Elliot looked at Richard’s profile, he couldn’t believe how handsome his competition was. Many Yale professors weren’t always the best-looking since many of them were older coots. Although Elliot was hated, no one denied that he was considered the most handsome man and Professor on the university campus; Elliott believed he would lose the power and status he had worked hard for. Elliot kept on reading about Richard, and he was in good standing.

Elliot tried to find out more about the man to see if blackmail could be used against him if he got in Elliot’s way. There was nothing; Richard had a clean record and a good standing. “Daman it! I have to find something.

It was 6:02 a.m., and Elliot watched Alexandria and her friends all night until they slept, but Elliot couldn’t forget when he saw her change into her night clothes, which consisted of short shirts and a black GAP shirt with a dark brown undershirt. She didn’t wear a bra since he saw her not wearing one. However, the memory of her breasts came to him, and they were perfect size; her pink nipples were erect when exposed. Elliot was also surprised that Alexandria liked wearing Victoria’s Secret lacy underwear.

The Professor sighed as he arched his head back. “I have to get some sleep. There’s a possibility that the damn Detective may try to call me at any moment. Elliot was about to turn off his laptop when he heard and saw Alexandria wake up. His eyes were groggy, and he thought it best to spy on her later in the day. However, his curiosity got the better of him, and he decided to watch on. Alexandria stretched and lay in bed as she silently got her phone.

“Hmm…I wonder if Richard has an Inagram account.”

“She dares speak of him. To think she would even research him.” He watched as Alexandria looked through her phone for more than ten minutes.

“Wow, he’s very adventurous. He’s been to many countries.”

Elliot got his laptop and used another tab to go to Google, where he went to Inagram and researched Richard’s profile. There were many profiles with that name, but he eventually found it due to the profile picture. When clocking the profile, Elliot saw that Richard’s profile was public, and he saw the many pictures Richard had. He posted many pictures of his travels to many countries. There were also pictures of him and some friends and family members. In many of Richard’s pictures, some had his upper body exposed; he had a good physique.

Jealousy grew within the Professor; he couldn’t believe admitting to himself that Richard had a better body than he did. His body quivered in rage; he didn’t want to admit that his competition was any better than he was. At the corner of his eye, Elliot then noticed Alexandria giggling while looking at some of the pictures.“Oh wow, he’s gorgeous. I wonder if he’s single.”Alexandria stilled momentarily until she slowly lowered her bed covers and blankets where her entire body was exposed. To Elliot’s surprise, he saw Alexandria slowly lower her shorts and underwear, exposing her private.

There was some hair on top, but it wasn’t too extensive. Elliot thought it was perfect. “Is she going to do what I think she is?” The grogginess dissipated as Elliot was engrossed in his laptop screen. He licked his lips as his student slowly took off her underwear entirely. She then used her free hand and slowly trailed up to her breasts, which were covered by her shirt, and massaged them. A groan escaped her lips, but Alexandria caught herself as she remembered her friends sleeping in her living room.

The young woman looked at her phone at one picture of Richard, who looked like he was at the beach. The phone was put down as Alexandria lifted her shirt and undershirt, where her breasts were exposed and perked up. Elliot licked his lips as he felt his body turning warm at the sight before him. Elliot felt his cock becoming erect; he unbuttoned his pants and took out his erect cock. Veins slowly formed, and he felt a bit of his precum wanting to drip. Elliot then opened one of his cabinets and took some cream out, where he put some on his erection and right hand.

He watched where he saw Alexandria squeezing both of her nipples while biting her lower lip to refrain from groaning. Elliot began to move his hand up and down on his cock while watching his obsession pleasuring herself. The Professor thought Alexandria was innocent, but even the strongest and most innocent-looking souls have their secrets. Alexandria’s erotic side excited Elliot; he continued watching. Alexandria then used her left hand to massage and squeeze her nipple while her right hand lowered down to her entrance. Her waist was arched slightly upward, and her legs widened, making her entrance open. “Oh, Richard,” she whispered.

Elliot knew that he should have been angered, but he was lost in his lust and pleasure as he masturbated. He watched as Alexandria slowly put two fingers inside herself and began to masturbate. She bit her lower lips harder as she felt her walls clenching onto her fingers. The young woman imagined Richard on top of her, with his magnificent body exposed. It made her wonder what the lower part of his body looked like. Her finger movement went faster; she put her legs and feet together as the pleasure was throughout her body. She arched her wast further upward as squishy sounds were heard.

Alexandria covered her lips to refrain from letting out a loud moan; she came on her fingers. Elliot saw everything as he arched his waist up; he came on parts of his desk and his shirt. Both breathed heavily. The Professor then saw Alexandria take her fingers out of herself and slowly get up. He couldn’t help but notice some of her juices dripping from her entrance.

He had the urge to lick it off from her. Alexandria then went to the restroom and turned on the shower. Elliot then turned off his laptop while processing everything that happened. His obsession with her grew, and he was more determined than ever to have her and ensure she would never see the light of day.

16: Thoughts

Alexandria finished bathing and dressing herself and then remembered that she would meet Richard at 3 p.m. She went to the living room, where her friends were already awake. They said their good mornings, and Alexandria decided to cook her and her friend’s breakfast. Jenny wanted to help, but Alexandria wouldn’t have it. “You guys are my guests, so I will cook for you guys. Besides, see this as a thanks for motivating me to go to the party.”

Jenny exited the sofa and went to her friend, wrapping an arm around her. “Aww, that’s what friends are for! Besides you needed time to go out. Although, it would have been nice if you got laid!”

Max slowly sat up from the soda and looked at Alexandria and Jenny, shaking his head. “Babe, you need to stop being blunt. Alexandria knows what is good for her.”

Alexandria returned to cooking and thought about the last time she had been intimate. She had one serious boyfriend that only lasted for a year, but her ex was her first experience, and it wasn’t a good experience since he only lasted five minutes. Alexandria always thought that sex was pleasurable, but her first time was painful, and when trying again, there was some pleasure. Ever since the breakup, the young woman hadn’t tried again, but she learned how to masturbate. There was some pleasure in masturbation, but it wasn’t the same.

Some men were interested in taking her to bed, but Alexandria wanted to have sex with someone she had feelings for. Jenny and Max even suggested a threesome one time since they were still in a polyamorous relationship. She thought it bizarre that a couple would go and sleep around with other people. Their offer was rejected, but the trio became friends, and Alexandria didn’t judge their lifestyle. After cooking breakfast, the trio ate peacefully while having a conversation.

When everyone finished eating their breakfast, Jenny and Max got dressed and went on their way. Alexandria had more time since she had to go to Yale’s library to work with Richard. Her heart beat rapidly whenever Richard came to mind, and Alexandria couldn’t believe she was thinking about a Professor. A sigh escaped her lips, “I need to go out before going to the University’s library.” Alexandria left her dorm and decided to go to the bookstore Noble Books, where a coffee shop was located.

It wasn’t too far, and once inside the store, some people were looking for books or were in line for coffee. Alexandria went to the mystery-crime section to see if new books were on display. She got to the section and began to look for any book that caught her interest. While looking, she heard footsteps coming behind her. Alexandria ignored them since many were also looking for books. “Alexandria?”

The young woman froze; the voice sounded familiar, and her heart beat rapidly. She slowly turned around, and there he was. “P-Professor, Richard? What are you doing here?” Richard had the beautiful smile that Alexandria loved. He didn’t wear his professional clothes but a simple black T-shirt with a black jean jacket on top, dark blue jeans, and black shoes. His hair was slightly messy, which gave him a bad-boy vibe.

“Good morning to you too, Alexandria. I like coming here on the weekends to relax or do some work. I wanted to come here to drink some coffee and get some books to read. I presume you came here for the same thing?”

Alexandria tried hard not to blush, but it wasn’t easy. “Y-Yeah. I wanted to see if I can find anything new before going to the library.”

Richard saw that they were both in the mystery-crime section; he chuckled. “Wow, you’re more into the mystery-crime scenery. If I can be blunt, I thought you would be more into the fantasy and romance genre.”

“I get that sometimes but I do enjoy a sense of suspense. I do enjoy reading books from retired law enforcement or lawyers since they have experience in the field. These types of authors make their books more realistic. So, uh, what about you? What kind of genres do you like?”

Richard massaged the back of his head. “Well, I am more to historical fiction and…romance.” He noticed Alexandria’s surprised expression. “I know. How could a man like romance books.”

“I’m a bit surprised but I actually find it refreshing that a man admits to liking romance. Many men would think it isn’t manly.”

“Yeah, I know many men that like reading romance stories, but they keep silent about it. What I like about romance is that it gives you a world that one vies for.”

Alexandria tried not to show it, but she was surprised by his answer. ‘A world that one vies for.’ It made her wonder if Richard vied for a relationship or something more.“M-Maybe there could be a possibility that…”She stopped herself from thinking that far. “That is an interesting perspective. You’re the first man that I heard say something like that. It’s admirable.” The two stood silent as more people entered the bookstore; Alexandria felt awkward. “W-Well, I won’t get in your way. I guess I will see you later.” She was about to walk toward another section but felt a hand on her arm.

“Wait.”

“Di-Did he just grab my arm!? Holy hell!”Alexandria slowly looked at him. “Y-Yeah?”

Richard slowly let go of her arm. “Since we’re both here, we could get more acquainted before beginning to work together. It would break off the tension. What do you say? Coffee will be on me.”

It was hard to grasp what Richard asked for to get acquainted. Alexandria wanted to squeal out of excitement, but it took her willpower to stop. “Sure, that would be wonderful.”

17: Conversation

Richard led Alexandria toward the bookstore’s coffee shop, where the lines were shorter. The Professor ordered a white chocolate latte and pumpkin bread, while Alexandria ordered a sugar cookie, almond milk latte, and a slight vanilla scone. The young woman would pay for hers, but Richard had none. He paid for everything before she could respond.

He then led her to a nearby table as their orders were being prepared. Alexandria felt her heart beating rapidly; she still comprehended that Richard invited her for coffee before working together. “So, I remember you telling me that you used to teach at Johns Hopkins University and that is an impressive position. What I’m curious about is you wanting to substitute at Yale for only short period of time. What will you do after the time is done?”

“Well, I want a change of pace and something challenging. I also enjoyed my time here as a student and alwa,ys wanted to return home to finally haveful life.” Suddenly, the barista called Richard’s name, and the two got their drinks and snacks and sat back down. “Anyway, I hope to work at Yale as a professor, even if it means part-time work.”

“Good for you. You seem to know what you want in life. Not many people can say that since they have to work in jobs they despise to survive.”

Richard took a sip from his drink. “Yeah. I am very fortunate to be in a situation where I have enough to pay my bills and still do things in my leisurely time.”

Alexandria also took a sip of her drink and a bite of her scone. Judging from his social media account, she knew that he was adventurous. However, Alexandria didn’t want him to suspect she was looking into his social media.“I feel like a stalker, “she smiled. So, what do you like to do during your free time?”

“Well, I am quite the traveler. I like to explore new things whether it be a city, town, or even restaurants. Although I do like having time by myself where I watch movies.”

“Ah, so you are what is called and ambivert. You are an extrovert who likes to explore life, but an introvert who wants to be by themselves.”

The Professor chuckled. “I guess I am but I am getting older and there are times I think about how it would be nice to see more of the world with someone else.”

The young woman couldn’t help being curious about his relationship status. “I agree. Traveling alone can be soothing, but the experience would be great to have someone who shares the same interests. If you don’t mind me asking this, aren’t you in a relationship?” Richard was silent, and Alexandria felt foolish for asking him a personal question. “Sorry, I shouldn’t have asked. It wasn’t my business.”

“Don’t worry about it. You were curious, and to answer your question, I used to have a girlfriend. We were together for three years, and I was going to ask her to marry me.” Richard was quiet momentarily as if having hesitation in speaking further. “Before I could, she broke up with me. She was in love with one of my best friends.”

“What!? That’s terrible.”

“I guess so. She fell in love with now, my ex-best friend on the second year of our relationship. He felt the same about her. My ex-girlfriend couldn’t live with the lies and secrets and came up front.”

The young woman couldn’t help but notice the hint of sadness in his voice. It looked as if he truly loved his ex. It made sense to Alexandria since Richard was going to propose. Although deep in her heart, she was relieved that Richard was single.“I need to get myself together! He’s still a Professor, and I’m still a student. I-I can’t give myself false hopes.” It was the first time she was attracted to someone she shouldn’t have. “I’m sorry you had to go through that. I can’t imagine the pain of being with someone who had feelings for someone else. By the sound of it, you’re also not friends with your best friend.”

“Yes, he wanted to keep in being friends, but I couldn’t. Seeing them together would tear me apart. I found out by other friends that they became engaged.”

“Oh, that’s horrible. Is that the main reason you decided to come home?”

The Professor was about to take a bite from his pumpkin bread as he raised an eyebrow. He couldn’t help but feel amazed by Alexandria’s intelligence. “You could say that. It is interesting that you caught on.”

“Hee, I am studying law and my dream is to be a lawyer so I have to learn how to make observations and conclusions.”

“You did mention that. What motivated you to be a lawyer?”

Alexandria took a sip of her drink. “Actually, there was a former classmate that motivated me. We were in middle school and word got out that my classmate’s dad was molesting her and the dad was put into prison. It has been on the news where the father claimed his innocence and three months later, committed suicide in prison since he was beaten constantly. Three weeks afterward, my classmate said that the molesation accusations were a lie. Supposedly, she was pressured by her mother to lie since her father wanted a divorce.”

“Oh, that’s horrible. I can’t imagine the pain the father must have felt. Unfortunately, situations like that happen.”

“Yeah, my classmate moved but when before my first day of the university, a friend of mine told me that she saw our former classmate homeless, hooked on drugs. She must have held the guilt for so long.”

The two remained silent as they continued drinking and eating their snacks. “So, you wanted to become a lawyer to help those who are wrongfully accused?” Richard asked.

“Yes. The justice system is broken where many people are falsely accused for crimes they didn’t commit. After working as a lawyer for a couple years, I then want to become a judge.”

“Very admirable. We do need judges that are fair and just. Not only that, we need judges that a use their common sense. Anyway, we shouldn’t stay on the sad topics.”

Alexandria nodded. “You’re right. Well, I guess I will see you later in the day then?” She stood up and was about to leave, but Richard also stood.

“Since we’re both here, maybe we should start working now, so we can the rest of the day off. If you’d like of course.”

“I would like that.”

18: Interrogation Pt.3

Elliot slept a little after staying up for a while; when he looked at the clock, it was past noon. It was not like him, but he couldn’t go to work or do his usual activities without possibly being called by the Detective. It annoyed him, but he needed to bide his time to think of a plan. Detective Rose suspected him of pushing his wife, and Elliot wouldn’t hesitate or have any problem convincing any law enforcement or Detective of his supposed ‘innocence.’

Detective Rose was different. She was intelligent and observant, and Elliot knew she would not be easy to fool. “I might as well get some lunch, and perhaps I should get some fresh air.” Suddenly, his phone rang. When he got it and looked at the caller ID, Elliot immediately sat up, annoyed. The Professor answered, “Detective, good afternoon.”

“Mr. Landon, good afternoon to you as well. I hope this isn’t a bad time.”

“On the contrary, Detective, I have barely woken up from my nap, and I was going to have some lunch.” Elliot had a hunch that the Detective would ask him to go to another interrogation; he wanted to have time for himself. Although, he couldn’t shake off the feeling of the possibility of what information she had. What could she have? Elliot ensured to hide his tracks. The Professor didn’t want to be interrogated again but couldn’t help but be curious about what the DDetectiveknew. “How may I help you, Detective?”

“I was hoping if you had the time to come in for another interrogation.”

Elliot got off from his bed. “Of course. What time would you like me to go?”

“After you had your lunch. I would like for you to arrive with a full stomach. I shall wait for you here at the station.”

The two hung up, and Elliot eyed his phone. “Damn bitch. You won’t give up until you have something useful. You don’t know who you are messing with.” Elliot dressed himself since he didn’t want to leave without looking good. He got in his car and drove to one of his favorite expensive places to eat. When Elliot left, he didn’t realize someone parked far away where the stranger wouldn’t be recognized. When the stranger ensured that Elliot was no longer in view, the stranger turned on their car and drove toward Elliot’s estate.

Meanwhile, Elliot arrived at his favorite restaurant where organic food was sold. He took his time eating his food. The Professor didn’t want Detective Rose to think she had power over him; he always had control. He enjoyed his food to the fullest, and an hour later, he finished, got in his car, and slowly drove toward his destination. Elliot chose the farthest restaurant to explain why he took so long to the Detective. “I can imagine what she is thinking. Foolish woman.” Another hour later, Elliot arrived at his destination, where he slowly exited his car and walked toward the building, enjoying every moment.

He eventually arrived at the station, where he told the front desk of his arrival. The desk worker told Elliot to sit down and wait for Detective Rose. Elliot sat down and waited; ten minutes went by, and nothing.

Then, forty minutes.

An hour.

Two hours.

Elliot felt his blood boil as he looked at his watch. He would ask the front desk worker about the Detective’s whereabouts. The worker called the Detective, and he was told that she was on an important phone call about something other things were happening. He had enough and was about to stand up to leave.

“Mr. Landon.”

The Professor looked to his right, and the Detective was smiling. “I appreciate your arrival and patience. I hope it wasn’t too much trouble.”

Elliot knew she was being sarcastic; her eyes were gleeful. He felt enraged that she would play his game against him. She was the one who asked him to come. He believed he had a right to have his lunch in peace, but Elliot refused to satisfy her. “It is no trouble at all. You gave me the opportunity to let me have lunch.”

Rose smiled. “Of course, I wouldn’t want you to come here on an empty stomach. I am not that cruel. Although, I also took the opportunity to have my lunch since you could come a little later. I just finished myself. Now, please follow me.”

Elliot did what he was told; Rose knew he would bide his time. She decided to play his game, which annoyed him to the core. However, Elliot didn’t want to do anything to raise suspicions; he felt that it was time to play her game.

The two arrived at the interrogation room, where he was asked if he wanted coffee, but Elliot refused. He didn’t want to risk giving any DNA for her to use if something were to be found.

Both sat on their seats while Rose got her notebook and pen out. She looked down while looking at her notes. It was silent between them; Elliot crossed his arms, eyes on the Detective. He didn’t blink while waiting for her questions.

“You must be wondering why I wanted you to be here.”

“I know you suspect me of pushing my wife.” Before Rose could speak, he continued, “There is no need to deny it. It always happens in cases like these.”

“It would make sense, but some information came to me that made me ask you for a meeting.” Rose got her notebook ready. “During your marriage to Amanda, did you get along with her parents?”

Her questions were unexpected. “Why is she asking me about her worthless parents?” That was when the realization came to him. “They came here, didn’t they?”

“We looked into her information and discovered that her parents are still alive. I wanted to see how they viewed you.” Rose lied, frightened of what he would do if he found out they had come here voluntarily. “Now, please answer the question, Mr. Landon.”

“You are not being entirely honest, Detective; I can see it in your eyes.”

Rose smiled as she wrote in her notebook, “Avoiding the question shows me that you have something to hide. An honest person wouldn’t hesitate to answer. You have something to hide; I can see it in your eyes.” The Detective felt that his defensiveness was his first mistake. He didn’t expect the question. She wanted to use his words against him, and it looked as if Elliot was slowly breaking his character. “Unless you wish to prove me wrong.”

“I have nothing to hide, Detective. I don’t know what my former-in-laws told you, but we didn’t have the best relationship. I couldn’t help but feel that they didn’t like me because they felt that I was the cause of their daughter’s previous divorce. However, Amanda decided to upon the act, knowing full well that she was married.”

“Understandable, sometimes in-law can cause strain in their children’s relationship. However, I have been told that you never tried to get close to them. That after your wife miscarried, you both became distant. However, you did mention that you two overcame any troubles.”

“Yes. I was distant because I didn’t want to cause tension or discomfort for them. Also, losing our baby was hard on both of us.”

Rose nodded. “I imagine, but Amanda told her parents that ever since, you both have been sleeping apart. That doesn’t seem to be working things out, don’t you agree, Mr. Landon?”

Elliot refused to express his anger and annoyance. “You must understand that one doesn’t always like to say the negative things about one’s marriage. No matter what, my former in-laws will always defend their daughter. How will that be fair to me?”

The Detective was amazed at how Elliot would portray himself as the victim; that was how narcissists worked. “I agree, but what I found interesting when speaking to your former in-laws was that your wife suspected you were having an affair.” Rose noticed Elliot slightly flinch.“Bingo, I knew you had something to hide.”

“Damn you, Amanda! You couldn’t keep your lips shut!”Elliot noticed that Rose was satisfied with the information. “Amanda was paranoid ever since she miscarried our child and yes, we did have our troubles but were thinking about going to therapy.”

“That is interesting. We have looked into both your records, and nothing indicated that either of wanting to go to therapy. Your wife told her parents you have been working late hours, have become secretive, and seem distant. I have gone to many lectures and read the work of physiologists that found spouses that have done those type of actions indicate having an affair. Also, partners who have cheated in the past have a higher chance of cheating again. Studies are studies and facts are facts, Mr. Landon. Since you are a lawyer, you use facts to win your cases, do you not?” The Detective was done playing games and decided to be upfront with her suspicions; she had other plans up her sleeve.

“Yet, you speak against me without any proof. You are going with the word of a couple who didn’t view well of me. That is being biased.”

“On the contrary, you knew that Amanda was married, but you still had an affair. What does that say about your character? Indeed, she wasn’t faithful, but you weren’t faithful yourself, either.” Rose stood up; her eyes never left Elliot. “I have contacted Yale University’s law department about the situation, Mr. Landon. They agreed with the interview and will let me and other detectives do interviews with some of your students. Not only that, but your phone records will soon arrive. You may think they will be easy to delete, but the phone company has those records in their system.”

Rose enjoyed the power she felt over Elliot. She noticed his grip on one arm tightened, and his smug, confident look slowly disappeared. “You have no grounds to do this, for you have no proof. You only have people’s opinions about me.”

“If I have suspicions that it was murder, I have a right to prove my theory. With that, you are not to return to Yale until you are cleared to work there again. You were brought here not to get questioned again but to let you know that you are being suspected of possible murder. You may go home, Professor, but we will always watch you. If you try to leave this state or your home, we will know and put you behind bars. Goodbye for now, Professor.” Rose walked out of the room and through the halls. She sighed in relief. Her phone rang, and she saw that it was Maxwell. She answered, “Hello, Maxwell. I hope everything went accordingly?”

“It wasn’t easy; luckily, I was able to track his cameras and protection systems. I inputted speakers and tiny cameras outside his property. We will be able to hear and see somethings that he may be hiding.”

“Good, thanks, Maxwell.”Both hung up. Rose knew what she and Maxwell were doing was against the law. They staked their careers and reputations. However, Elliot was one of the most dangerous people they faced, and they needed to break some laws to put him down. “If criminals can break laws to get away from responsibilities, it wouldn’t hurt to break laws to bring them to justice.”

19: Past

Alexandria and Richard were at the University and inside the faculty room. There were a few Professors, but there were too many since it was the weekend. Alexandria couldn’t help but feel strange being in the faculty room, where she believed the brightest minds went to relax. ”I am not worthy of being inside here,”she would tell herself. She assisted Richard with grading and inputting information into the system. The young woman thought that Professors had it easier than regular teachers.

It was further than the truth. Professors, especially in Ivy League universities, were under more pressure to teach the best quality education. Richard explained to her that he had to write lesson plans for Elliot’s classes, and the head of the law department had to approve them. Richard couldn’t help but chuckle and admit that Johns Hopkins wasn’t as strict and challenging. However, he was determined to get the experience while substituting at Yale. Alexandria admired his ambition and determination.

It had been an hour since the duo had been working together. Alexandria sighed in relief when finishing inputting the last parts of the grades. “I’m done inputting the grades in the system.”

Richard looked up from his laptop and smiled. “Wow, you work very quick! Although, I shouldn’t be surprised since you are probably used to doing a lot of work and being challenged.”

“I am used to it but it wasn’t so difficult. To be honest, it is nice to do some easy workload once in a while. Although, with my interest of career, something like this should be considered a blessing.”

“I would have to agree. When one wants an ambitious career, one must sacrifice one’s comfort.”

Alexandria stood up and stretched; she then went to get two cups of water. Richard was given one. He thanked her as he took a sip from the cup of water. “So, is there any other reason you wanted to study law?”

The young woman sat silently as she watched Richard continuing his work. There was another reason why she wanted to study law. It was something that Alexandria didn’t like talking about, but it did make her feel better when expressing her truth. “I-I didn’t have the greatest upbringing. I had an abusive narcissistic father who enjoyed emotionally and physically abuse me and my mother.”

The young Professor stopped typing on his laptop and slowly looked at Alexandria. He noticed how low her head was. There was the possibility that Alexandria suffered a traumatic experience with her father. Richard stopped what he was doing and gave her his full attention. “Are you sure you want to talk about this? I understand that this might be uncomfortable to talk about.”

“It can be, but when it does feel good to express one’s experiences. It can be therapeutic. Anyway, my mother and I suffered through my father’s abuse. He acted charming and kind to the outside world, but once inside closed doors, he showed the monster he always was. My father would beat us whenever we did the slightest mistake. He would also verbally and emotionally put us down to the point that is trampled our self-esteem. It was difficult for my mom to leave since she loved my father. My father would always apologize and promised he would change.”

Richard had a profound and understanding expression. “So what ended up happening?”

“When I was in middle school, one of my teachers noticed my change of character and a bruise. She informed child protective services and they arrived to our house. My father would play the saint and he deny all the accusations. Unfortunately, my mother was entrapped under his manipulation and her ‘love’ for him. However, I knew that when the service agents left, my dad would punish me for giving my teacher any indication on what was happening at home. I didn’t want to suffer his abuse anymore. I told them the truth about my dad’s abuse and my mom protecting him. I showed the bruises. They took me away.”

“I’m so sorry that you had to go through all of that. I can’t imagine going through something traumatic.”

“I will never forget the look on my mom’s face. She cried but she didn’t beg me back.” Alexandria couldn’t forget that sort of memory. It was something that was stuck with her; tears slowly formed.

“Alexandria, I think your mom truly loved you; she knew that her feelings for your father was too strong and didn’t have the strength to leave. However, deep down, your mother was happy to you were free from that abuse.”

The young woman closed her eyes and became thoughtful. Alexandria remembered when she was taken away; her mother smiled sadly. Richard’s explanation made sense; her mother was happy that she was able to escape. “My dad tried to get me back and he ensured to destroy any evidence of abuse. My maternal aunt fought for custody for me and she saved the voicemails of my dad making threats to her. However, my aunt told me that my mom, finally spoke up about the truth. She realized that it was her one chance to escape.”

Richard looked relieved. “I am so glad to hear that. Your mother finally found her strength; you motivated her!” He noticed Alexandria’s expression change.

“My aunt got custody of me and my mom stayed with us but my dad would constantly call my mom and beg her to come back to home. My aunt tried so hard to convince my mom not to go. She eventually returned to him and a month later, he killed her and then himself.” It was silent between them, but Alexandria couldn’t hold back her tears. She cried but immediately wiped them off. “Sorry about that.”

The Professor moved closer and gently patted her on the back. “Never apologize for something like that. You expressed something traumatic and I know it wasn’t simple. You went through so much but you are also a brave survivor.”

“I want to become a lawyer where I can help abused victims. My mom wasn’t saved but I know I can make a difference.”

“Alexandria, you have great dedication but I also have to be realistic with you. There are times when you won’t always be able to save everyone but you can help break the cycle and defend those who are voiceless. Now, let me finish this paperwork so I can take you out for lunch. I will not accept ‘no’ for an answer.”

Alexandria smiled and decided not to argue back; she wanted to spend more time with her Professor. “Wouldn’t dream of it.”

20: Action

Elliot was outraged beyond belief; it was almost a miracle that he could make it home alive. He drove like a madman on the road and felt like killing someone. Detective Rose was going to inform Yale University of the case, and all the Professors and students he made miserable were going to use the opportunity to destroy him.

He couldn’t believe that he didn’t think of his wife’s parents. Elliot believed that he was going to get away from killing his wife but didn’t think of the parents since they were insignificant to him. During his time working as a lawyer, parents of spouses usually held information about a couple’s secrets. Elliot didn’t want to accept the fact that he made a mistake.

When getting inside his home, Elliot went to the kitchen, got a knife, and walked toward the sofa. He got one of the pillows and stabbed it repeatedly until the cotton flowed mid-air. Anger still overwhelmed him, and the Professor then got the knife and stabbed the sofa while imagining he was killing Amanda and then Detective Rose. The image of their blood spurting onto him brought him excitement. The feeling of having control and overpowering them brought him great joy.

Eventually, Elliot calmed down as he looked at the aftermath of his rage. He became silent, but then he slowly began to laugh. His laughs became louder and stronger, so much so that tears formed in his eyes. The Professor slowly calmed himself and took deep breaths; the knife was dropped to the floor. “That damn bitch thinks she can get the better of me but she is sadly mistaken. I have to delete everything from the system but I have to get some help.” Elliot immediately went to his study and got his laptop. He knew he couldn’t delete everything by himself, but he knew some people who were good hackers and good at deleting things. That was why he used the deep web and was a frequent customer.

The Professor was usually ready for anything that came his way but didn’t expect a Detective, a woman, to pick up a fight. Elliot wasn’t afraid to admit that he was a misogynist; he refused to be overpowered by a woman.

As he turned on his laptop and was about to sign in, he wondered what Alexandria was up to. He didn’t want the news to reach her yet. Elliot turned on the system where cameras were keeping Alexandria’s every move. It was already late afternoon, and there was the possibility of her being out with her friends. When the system was turned on, he saw Alexandria wasn’t home yet. It suited him fine since there were many things he had to do. Elliot went to Yale’s administrative site to hack into the Professor’s emails and then delete some of the messages he sent to blackmail.

However, when trying to log in, he was surprised to see that the passwords had changed. It was odd, the passwords couldn’t be changed unless there was special permission by the university’s president. Curious, Elliot decided to go to his Yale email to see if there were any changes. When inputting his username and password, he was surprised he couldn’t log in. His eyes widened, and Elliot realized he was locked from his emails. “This is impossible! I can’t be locked out without good reason.

Suddenly, Alexandria was heard from his laptop; she had returned home. Elliot’s focus changed as he watched her enter her apartment and sigh in relief. It was surprising that she wasn’t seen with her friends. What was noticeable was how happy Alexandria looked. Elliot wasn’t accustomed to seeing a different kind of happiness. ”Ah! I never thought that I would be working with Richard! I even had coffee and lunch with him!”

Richard.

If he remembered correctly, Richard was supposedly substituting for Alexandria in her class. Was she getting excited about a Professor? Elliot slowly became angry. “Is she happy with another man??”

Suddenly, he and Alexandria heard a knock on her door. The young woman was watched looking through the peephole and groaned in annoyance. She opened the door, and Quinn was on the other side. Elliot raised an eyebrow, surprised to see Quinn. He remembered that she was in one of his classes, but she quit due to stress.

“Hey Quinn, I’m surprised that you came here knocking. What’s up?”

Quinn didn’t wait to be invited in. She held onto her laptop and looked as if she hit the jackpot.“Hey Alex, didn’t you see the news!?”

“What news?”

“Remember I showed you that a Professor lost his wife due to an accident. Well, I guess our guess was right! Professor Landon was that Professor, but that’s not all, he is suspected of actual foul play!”

Elliot felt his blood turn cold when he heard Quinn speak about him. It was unbelievable that the University spread the news of him being suspected of killing Amanda.

Alexandria looked surprised and was shown the laptop; her eyes widened as she read that Elliot was suspected of being a suspect for his own wife’s death. ”Oh my god! I can’t believe this!”

“Yeah, tell me about it! I was shocked as hell too! Creepy to think that we had a killer as Professor!”

The young woman wrapped her arms around herself.“Well, we don’t know if he’s guilty but either way, I always felt something off about him.” Elliot listened as the young women spoke, standing up from his seat to hear everything! He couldn’t believe Alexandria would think of him negatively. Everything was going to be a shambles. However, as the Professor contemplated his next course of action, he didn’t know he was being watched.
